Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Dubai Future Foundation, presented Dubai AI Academy — a new initiative aimed at expanding AI education and promoting its implementation in key economic sectors. The launch of the academy took place during the first edition of Dubai AI Week 2025, held from April 21 to 25 at various locations in Dubai, including the Museum of the Future and AREA 2071 at Emirates Towers. The event was organized by the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence, an initiative of the Dubai Future Foundation, was reported by Emirates News Agency (WAM).

“Dubai will be the number one destination for all those who want to shape the future of artificial intelligence. We will continue to support major initiatives that demonstrate the promising and diverse possibilities of using AI and the opportunities it offers to accelerate economic growth and progress in government, education and society,” Sheikh Hamdan said.

Dubai AI Academy is part of the Dubai AI Campus — the largest dedicated hub for AI and advanced technology companies in the region, located within the DIFC Innovation Hub.

In partnership with DIFC Academy, the initiative aims to become a leading provider of training and certification programs in the field of AI.The Academy will work with the world's leading academic institutions such as Oxford University's Saïd Business School, the Udacity Platform and the Minerva Project.

It will offer targeted programs that equip participants with the skills necessary for leadership in an AI-driven world.Among the first courses offered will be “AI for Government,” aimed at government employees, and “Leadership in the AI Era,” centered on strategic decision-making, ethics and adaptability in a technology-driven environment.

By expanding AI education, the academy wants to support Dubai's ambition to double the contribution of AI to GDP and boost the emirate's global competitiveness. The learning modules will focus on capabilities such as identifying AI use cases, incorporating AI into business strategies, and applying ethical frameworks for responsible adoption.

This initiative is in line with the goals of the Dubai Universal Blueprint for Artificial Intelligence (DUB.AI) and supports Dubai's vision to become a world hub for AI, innovation and technology. The Dubai AI Campus, launched on the basis of Sheikh Hamdan's guidance in 2023, supports this transformation by providing computing power, acceleration programs for enterprises and a special business licensing model in the field of AI.The Academy also contributes to the fulfillment of the DIFC strategy 2030 by supporting talent development within Dubai's AI, FinTech and innovation ecosystem. Its emergence should increase productivity of the local workforce and become a key tool for integrating AI into the public and private sectors.
